Capella Education Company provides corporate training to organizations, and degree programs to students who find it difficult to attend classes in-person due to career and family demands.
Responsibilities
As the Mobile Product Manager, it was my responsibility to research the needs of online learners, technical constraints of the company's systems, emerging capabilities of smartphone and tablet platforms, and business goals of Capella as I defined program requirements and design specifications. This included leading a team of a dozen designers and developers.
Actions
My top actions were to define specifications for the highest-in-demand mobile needs such as participating in classroom discussions, tracking of progress in programs, registering for classes, and library research.
Results
With thorough research and usability testing, and clarity in product roadmapping and specifications, I led a 7x increase in student adoption and doubled satisfaction ratings of the Capella Mobile platform (iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and mobile web application).
